Half-Life is returning after what feels like an eternity in dormancy. Half-Life: Alyx is a VR title set between the first and second games, and one that hopefully will lead to more games, like the fabled Half-Life 3, at some point in time. While the return is something fans can rejoice, it will sound slightly different as several key voice actors are being replaced.
According to PC Gamer, the roles of Alyx (the titular character) and Eli Vance will be replaced by new voice actors. Ozioma Akagha will take over the role from Merle Dandridge. James Moses Black will take over for Eli Vance from the late Robert Guillaume. Cissy Jones, a new voice actress to the series, will also come in an unspecified role.
It won’t all be new voices, though, as there’s several key voice actors returning. Ellen McLain will return for her roles in the Combine overwatch, Tony Todd will voice the Vortigaunts once again and, of course, Mike Shapiro will return as the iconic G-Man.
Half-Life: Alyx will release on PC in March 2020 as a VR-only title. You can read the PC requirements through here.
