Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and even though it’s in Japanese, it offers a good look at the various gameplay systems. This includes training, eating and even raising social levels with other characters. Check out the trailer below.

Since this is an action RPG, you can expect to complete plenty of quests and grind out levels. The eating mechanic is actually interesting since meals will temporarily boost stats (with Goku’s wife Chichi offering the best stat increases with her meals). As for training, it allows for unlocking ultimate moves for different characters as you clear more battles.

As noted previously, you can use the Dragon Balls to revive fallen enemies like Frieza and Cell. This allows for embarking on a short side quest to gather their Soul Emblems along with some XP. Other side stories and side quests will net Soul Emblems to permanently boost stats so revisiting old foes sounds like a nice bonus on top of that.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot releases on January 17th 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Stay tuned for more details en route to release.
