Game Pass Will Be On Every Device We Make In The Future – Microsoft

Game Pass is "not an experiment," says Microsoft's gaming services marketing head Ben Decker.

The launch of Xbox Game Pass in 2017 marked the beginning of a new era for Microsoft in the gaming industry. It represented a major shift in their business model, and the immediate and widespread success it enjoyed also brought about a change in the way video game releases are viewed by the general public as well. And as you would expect, Microsoft has no intention of letting the service just fade away anytime soon.

Speaking in an interview with The Washington Post, Microsoft’s gaming services marketing head Ben Decker said that Game Pass is far from just an experiment for the company, and that they will continue to invest in the service for a long, long time to come, to the extent that they’re going to make sure it’s available on all “products” (which means consoles, one would assume) they make in the future.

“We’re committed to Game Pass being available on the next gen,” said Decker. “It’s not an experiment on the current generation of consoles. This is a service that our members can count on being on whatever products we introduce in the future.”

Xbox Game Pass was also made available on PC in 2019, while it will, of course, be available on Xbox Series X when it launches later this year as well. The service will see a host of major games coming to its catalog in the coming months. Most recently, GTA 5 joined its ever-growing library.
