This one came out of nowhere.

daemon x machina

Last year, we got the closest thing to a new Armored Core game in the form of Daemon X Machina. The game was different in some key ways, but it was a return to form for the Japanese-style mecha genre. It was originally released only for Switch and included some cool stuff, like crossover costumes and skins. Now, though, it seems the mechs are taking off to other horizons.

Out of nowhere, the game came up for a listing on Steam, which you can see through here. It will release later next week, and is published by XSEED Games (Nintendo published the original release on Switch outside of Japan, while Marvelous themselves published the Switch version in that region). There were no announcements, press releases, or teases given, making this quite the robotic shadow drop.

Daemon X Machina is available now on Nintendo Switch, and will release on PC on February 13th. There is a special 20% discount if you preorder via Steam. For our take on the game, you can read our review through here.
