Hunt: Showdown – PS4-Xbox One Cross-Play Is Just “Weeks” Away

"It's one of the most important features for us right now," says Crytek.

After a long and eventful development cycle, Crytek’s Hunt: Showdown finally saw its full launch last year, when it came out for the Xbox One and PC in August. That was followed by a PS4 release less than a month ago. With a game that’s as focused on multiplayer and PvP, cross-play is usually something developers tend to focus on quite a bit these days- and that’s true for Hunt: Showdown as well.

Crytek have been saying for a while that cross-play between the console versions of the game is a priority for them, and recently in an AMA session on Reddit, they re-iterated that yet again. In response to a question about when the game will get cross-play, Crytek said that they view that as one of the most important features to work towards, and it’s quite close to release. Apparently, cross-play will be enabled in a matter of weeks.

“Crossplay between XBOX and PS4 users is being worked on right now and we want to roll this out to the console community ASAP,” the developers wrote. “We are talking weeks here by the looks of it! It’s one of the most important features for us right now to support console besides optimizing the controller input lag and crash fixes.”

Hunt: Showdown is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
