id Software have talked up DOOM Eternal’s new and improved id Tech 7 engine a great deal over the past few months, talking about how it’s going to get the most out of both, the PS4 and the Xbox One. However, the hardware that will benefit most from the upgraded engine is, of course, PC, and if you’re planning on playing the shooter on the platform, the minimum and recommended system requirements have been revealed.
Keep in mind though that the requirements were removed from the game’s Steam page shortly after they were posted, so there’s a chance that Bethesda might be changing some aspects before the game’s imminent launch.
Minimum requirements require a 3.3 GHz Intel Core i5 3.3 processor (or a 3.1 GHz AMD Ryzen 3), along with a 4GB GTX 970 (the alternatives being a GTX 1060 (5 GB), a GTX 1650 (4 GB), an R9 290 (4 GB), or an RX 470 (4 GB). The recommended requirements are much beefier, demanding either an Intel Core i7-6700K or an AMD Ryzen 7 1800X, along with either a GTX 1080 (8GB), an RTX 2060 (8GB) or, an RX Vega56 (8GB).
DOOM Eternal is due out on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia on March 20, with a Switch version scheduled for launch on an as-of-yet unannounced date.
