DOOM Eternal is the sixth mainline entry in the first person shooter franchise DOOM, and the second since the series’ 2016 revival. It is developed by id Software, with Panic Button aiding development of the Nintendo Switch version of the game.
DOOM Eternal features several new movement options, a new multiplayer experience called Battle Mode, as well as an Invasion mode, which allows players to invade other players’ campaign and play as demons.
id Software has announced major changes to how it is selling games from the Doom and Quake franchises. There will also be new bundles for both franchises.
The shooter's newest Switch update also adds BATTLEMODE 2.0, a new playable demon, as well as new Master Levels.
id Software is currently hiring a combat designer for its next game, which looks to be yet another entry in the rebooted DOOM franchise.
BattleMode 2.0 is also live with the Dread Knight added as a new playable demon, streak-based matchmaking, and the new Stronghold map.
Update 6.66 delivers the highly anticipated Horde Mode along with BattleMode 2.0 which receives a new arena and streak-based rewards.
The next update looks to add and overhaul several things, and is said to be out soon.
The second instalment of DOOM Eternal's standalone expansion is finally coming to the Switch, following its initial launch for other platforms earlier this year.
