When it came to the 2016 reboot of the DOOM franchise, the acclaim and love came from the game’s brutally brilliant single player campaign. Much less came from its multiplayer component, which was largely forgettable. It seems that next month’s DOOM Eternal wants that to be a little different with a much more unique take on multiplayer with Battlemode.
At the PAX panel, we got to see a full live match of the multiplayer mode. We’ve seen some of it before, which you can check out here, but this is really the first live match we’ve seen from beginning to end. It’s a 2v1 affair where one player takes on the role of the Doom Slayer as the other two take on the Slayer. It will be a best of 5 rounds. The Slayer must kill the demons, with two players trying to take him down. You can also get cosmetics like costumes, gun skins, taunts and more through playing the mode. Check it out below.
DOOM Eternal will release March 20th fro PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. A Switch version of the title will come sometime later. For everything you need to know about the upcoming shooter, take a look through here.
