DOOM Eternal is almost here after an unfortunate delay. The big focus in the marketing has been the single player, because that part of the 2016 revival was as prime as a shooter could be. That game also had a multiplayer component, but it was largely ignored, with most fondness saved for the campaign. Whether the fate of Eternal‘s multiplayer will be the same remains to be seen, but it does look pretty fun in a new video.

The Battlemode multiplayer will basically be a 2v1 fight, with one person being the Doom Slayer and the other two being demons. While the Slayer is stronger than both, the other two can use strategy and unique abilities to overpower the other player. It will go up to five rounds, with no time limits. Apparently, it’s supposed to be much deeper than it sounds, so we’ll have to see how it pans out when the game launches. You can check 12 minutes of new footage via IGN below.

DOOM Eternal releases on March 20th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia, with a Switch version coming sometime later.
