DOOM Eternal Will Feature Classic Weapon Pose Option

Position weapons in the middle of the screen like the good ol' days.

Id Software’s DOOM Eternal is looking pretty good but in all the footage we’ve seen thus far, one thing has been missing: The ability to center your weapon. It’s the way Doom 1 and 2 worked and even DOOM (2016) received the option in a post-launch patch. Fortunately, id Software has already implemented the option into the sequel.

In a recent video, the development team revealed a Classic Weapon Pose option. When enabled, this will weapons to be centered in the middle of the screen as opposed to being held by the Slayer’s hands. Weird? You bet but that’s how it was done back in the day and it’s nice to see this included.

DOOM Eternal is currently slated to release on March 20th 2020 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The Switch version is still without a release date but hopefully more information will be revealed about the same next year. In the meantime, those who want to jump into the franchise for the first time can pick up DOOM Slayers Collection for PS4 and Xbox One.
