DOOM Eternal looks great from what we’ve seen of it so far. The game was announced back in June and since then we’ve been able to learn quite a bit about the game, including what platforms it will release for. Bethesda has now released a press kit for the game which comes with new information, artwork, and screenshots of the game.

The screenshots basically give us a glimpse of hell which is pretty much  what we’d expect from the game. They also showcase some different demons getting shot at with blood and gore everywhere. The artwork also showcases some of the different weapons we can expect to see in the game, along with some deadly looking demons.

Regarding what’s new in the game, the game’s action will be ramped up with new and updated armor and a new arsenal of weapons and tools at the player’s disposal. That includes a new dash ability (which can be used both on the ground and in the air), an extended blade (which makes for gorier up-close melee kills), and a shoulder-mounted cannon with a flamethrower. You can also use the Meat Hook attachment to your Super Shotgun to pull yourself close to enemies from a distance when needed.

There will also be a new Invasion mechanic in the game which will allow players to invade other players’ campaigns as demons and vice-versa. Of course, all of the fan-favorite demons, such as the Pain Elemental, Archvile, and Arachnotron are also going to be in the game, along with some new ones such as the DOOM Hunter and corrupted Marauders. There will also be a “destructible demons” system in the game, which should make the action feel even more intense, and we honestly can’t wait to hear more about it.

DOOM Eternal will also take place in some new locations, such as Phobos which gets invaded by the forces of hell, and of course, Hell on Earth, and other worlds where players will be able to discover secrets of the game’s universe. All of these areas will be highly detailed, and they are brought to life with the use of id Tech 7.

So yeah, sounds like an excellent game already, and we’re sure there’s bound to be more info down the line before the game launches that id Software haven’t gotten into yet. Stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated. You can check out the screenshots and artwork below.
