E3 season is in full swing, and while some may not care about Google Stadia or Destiny 2 going free to play, everyone seemingly has a Pavlovian response to DOOM. A new teaser for id Software’s DOOM Eternal is available on Twitter, and it features the chainsaw. Ripping and tearing intensifies accordingly.
The tweet doesn’t reveal too much – we see some new environments and an ominous voice stating that, “What you interfere with now is bigger than you can imagine.” This probably won’t stop the Doom Slayer in his quest to exterminate all of Hell’s minions but it does make you wonder what’s going on. DOOM Eternal will be present at Bethesda’s E3 2019 showcase on June 9th at 5:30 PM PT.
In development for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Google Stadia, DOOM Eternal features some new mechanics. Along with the Crucible Blade and arm-blade for brutal new Glory Kills, the Doom Slayer can navigate through environments using a grappling hook attached to a shotgun. There will also be “Invasions”, in which other players can control demons and interfere in your campaign session.
