With tech details on both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X now having been revealed, comparisons between the two are popping up everywhere, and obviously, everyone has a different take on which console comes out on top in terms of power. Recently, reports emerged of a Crytek developer claiming that the Xbox Series X’s decision to split its memory put it behind the PS5, but Microsoft, it seems, are very confident in the machine that they have built.

Speaking on a recent podcast with Dealer – Gaming (which you can view in full below), Microsoft’s Bill Stillwell – formerly of Xbox and now working with the Microsoft Cognition Team – said that Microsoft are not concerned about “the power narrative” and that he personally believes the Xbox Series X is the better console, even though the PS5 boasts some great tech (transcribed by This Gen Gaming).

“I think what you saw [with the PS5 reveal] was the unfortunate by-product of a GDC talk being turned into a marketing event,” said Stillwell. “I loved Sony’s talk, I think they’ve got some cool tech. I personally think we have a better console, we’re not worried about the power narrative.”

Similarly, just recently Xbox boss Phil Spencer made similar statements, praising the PS5 and its tech, but saying that following Sony’s tech reveal, Microsoft now feel even better about what they’ve done with the Xbox Series X. You can read more about that through here.
