With the COVID-19 pandemic to contend with, we’ve been seeing a lot of delays to video game releases of late, and it’s likely that we’ll be seeing many more. Sony in particular have warned that it’s something they’re closely monitoring, and have already delayed two of their major upcoming exclusives, with the releases of both Marvel’s Iron Man VR and The Last of Us Part 2 having been pushed back.
Many have suspected that Ghost of Tsushima – currently primed for a June 26 release – will follow suit, and though no official confirmation has bee given Sony (in fact, they have said that they currently have no more delays to announce), there might be some evidence to suggest that that will indeed be the case.
Over on PlayStation Canada’s homepage, Ghost of Tsushima is listen under the “Coming Soon” section, to no one’s surprise, but curiously enough, its release date is mentioned as August 1st, which is over a month away from its currently planned launch date (you can see a screenshot below). It’s entirely possible that this is just an error – the game’s actual dedicated page still mentions its release date as June 26 – so keep that in mind.
