It’s kind of incredible to think that a game that isn’t even technically out has managed to raise nearly $300 million from crowdfunding. What a world. The long-in-development Star Citizen is still in its alpha stage, but updates are coming out steadily, and the latest is live now and comes with some fun new things.

The update, 3.9, includes a lot of additions, including the new Esperia Prowler ship, a new mission entitled The Price of Freedom, new player status system, unified friends list, and a lot more. Probably one of the most unique new features is the Klescher Automated Prison, where players jailed by security forces or bounty hunters will have to do manual labor and plan escapes. You can see the details in the video below or read about them through here.

Star Citizen is in its alpha stage on PC now. A single player portion of the game is also in development.
