Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath (2)

NetherRealm Studios’ Mortal Kombat 11 will be getting a paid story expansion this month with Aftermath, which takes place after the events of the first game. It will cost $40 for those who own the base game along with Kombat Pack 1. Those who don’t own the Kombat Pack can purchase the Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath + Kombat Pack Bundle for $50. The Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath: Kollection is for new players and includes everything for $60.

Story-wise (and these are spoilers for the base game), Liu Kang and Raiden are looking to remake history after Kronika’s defeat. Unfortunately, Shang Tsung arrives to reveal that this isn’t possible since Kronika’s crown was destroyed. The plan? Send Shang Tsung, Nightwolf and Fujin back in time to retrieve her crown, which sounds like a recipe for disaster.

New fighters include Sheeva, Fujin and RoboCop (the Alex Murphy version). Sheeva wields a shied and a variety of grapples including her signature teleport slam that’s unblockable. Fujin is armed with a sword, crossbow and various wind techniques. Robocop comes with an Auto-9 pistol but also has a shoulder cannon, flamethrower and riot shield.

Three new character skin packs will be included with the purchase of Aftermath but released overtime. Preordering the expansion will net the Eternal Klash Skin Pack for three new skins – “Unbound Rage” Scorpion, “Son of Arctika” Sub-Zero and “Kori Power” Frost. You can check out how they look in the screenshots below, which also showcase upcoming free content like new stages, Stage Fatalities and Friendships.

The expansion, along with its free content update, are out on May 26th for all platforms.
