Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart looks like an exciting return of one of Sony’s most beloved franchises, and though we haven’t seen an awful lot of it, the potential of what it is promising to deliver thanks to the PS5’s SSD is exciting, to say the least. Insomniac Games have been actively talking about the game on social media ever since its announcement, dropping some brief details here and there, and the latest tidbit they have revealed will be exciting for a lot of series fans.

Like any new Ratchet game, Rift Apart will, of course, feature a variety of new locations and planets to discover, which Insomniac highlighted in a recent tweet. Something else they mentioned, however, is the fact that the game will also feature “alternate dimension versions of old favourites”, in keeping with its central premise of traveling through rifts across various dimensions. Sounds like an excellent opportunity to put a new, unique spin on some familiar old locations.

Recently, Insomniac also confirmed that the mysterious female Lombax seen in the game’s reveal trailer will be a playable character.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is currently in development for the PS5. It doesn’t yet have a release date.
