Tagging is also nerfed.

After a long beta phase, Valorant is finally here in its full retail form. The hero-based shooter is looking to make a mark on the genre and so far it seems the overall feeling is positive, even if the game is clearly in its early stages. But updates are planned and coming soon, with the latest patch, 1.02, going live now.

The patch brings a number of tweaks as you’d expect, but the major changes that will be immediately noticeable is the UI and HUD overhauls. The current UI was more or less the same as the beta, but now it has a few more options, such as a dedicated back button, and a more streamlined look. On the gameplay side, you now have the Surrender option for players who want to vote and leave a match that they are clearly on the losing end of, as well as nerfing the tagging effect which caused an enemy’s movements to slow significantly when being damaged.

The biggest addition, however, is competitive mode, but while it is apparently included in the update, it seems it will not be going live until later due to some technical issues. You can read the full details of the update through here.

Valorant is available now for PC. While console versions are apparently being prototyped, there are no current plans for them at this time.
