Amid all the leaks for Crysis Remastered, its official gameplay debut was to be revealed yesterday (you can check out the leaked version here). Instead, Crytek announced a delay, both for the game’s release and its official trailer, for more polish. The delay is for “a few weeks” as per the company on Twitter.

The company stated that all of the features that fans are looking forward to are already set. “But we want to take the time on polishing the game. You might be aware of the leak yesterday, and we want you to know: we’ve seen all the reactions—the good and the bad—and we’re listening! We’re still working on a number of things in game, as well as the storefront. Please keep the love coming, and rest assure, you’ll have the game you love shortly!

“This extra time until release will allow us to get Crysis Remastered up to the PC- and console-breaking standard you’ve come to expect from Crysis games. We hope you understand what we’re up to—stay with us while we take the time to make a few more improvements. Stay tuned, and we’ll have that game in your hands as soon as we possibly can.”

Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch started early and thus will remain open for the time being. However, other platforms will have to wait. Crysis Remastered is currently in development for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Switch. Along with new assets and effects, the remaster also includes software-based ray-tracing. Crysis Warhead, the standalone expansion, is not included.

Given how influential the original Crysis was, at least in terms of setting new standards for graphics, it’s understandable to ensure the remaster meets that standard. For now, we’ll have to wait for more details on the latter’s release. Stay tuned in the meantime.
