Mortal Shell

Cold Symmetry’s Souls-like title Mortal Shell had its closed-turned-open beta recently and witnessed a fairly strong response. It revealed on Twitter that over 350,000 players took part in the beta. More than five million people have watched the game on Twitch and YouTube and, perhaps most importantly, the cat in-game was petted more than 150,000 times.

The Mortal Shell beta offered access to two “Shells” and some of Fallgrim, one of the areas in-game. The full game has four Shells, each with their own unique abilities (though you can fight without one as well for some added challenge). Perhaps more intriguing is that each Shell has a story behind it, which you’ll learn more about as you explore the world.

Mortal Shell is slated to release this year for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The PC version will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store at launch. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
