It’s been a busy week for Microsoft with the announcement of the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X prices along with their release date. The company has made it clear that the former will target 1440p resolution at 60 FPS while the latter is all about 4K/60 FPS. But how do both consoles stack up to each other in terms of specs?

A handy spec comparison sheet has been released, which you can see below. Rumors of the Xbox Series S having an AMD RDNA 2 GPU with 20 CUs running at 1.565 GHz have turned out true (the Xbox Series X has 52 CUs running at 1.825 GHz). However, more surprising is the CPU speed. It’s essentially the same octa-core AMD Zen 2 CPU but clocked at 3.6 GHz (3.4 GHz with SMT enabled).

The GPU power is 4 TFLOPS, compared to the 12.15 TFLOPS on the Xbox Series X. RAM is also lower at 10 GB GDDR6 RAM with 8 GB having a bandwidth of 224 GB/s while 2 GB has 56 GB/s bandwidth. And of course, the Xbox Series S doesn’t have a Blu-ray disc drive, being digital only.

The Xbox Series S will cost $299 while the Xbox Series X will cost $499. Both consoles are out on November 10th with pre-orders going live on September 22nd.
