The Prince is finally back. After multiple leaks over the past few weeks, Ubisoft officially announced Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake during their Ubisoft Forward digital show. Check out its reveal trailer below.

Developed with Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai as the lead studios, The Sands of Time Remake recreates the beloved 2003 action-adventure classic in rather faithful fashion. Yuri Lowenthal, who portrayed the Prince in the Sands of Time trilogy (and in The Forgotten Sands) returns to reprise his role.

The reveal trailer shows plenty of gameplay footage, focusing on the series’ famed parkour and platforming, as well as the time manipulation gameplay that the Dagger of Time enables. Visually, it looks… not that impressive, but I imagine fans of the series will be glad that it’s coming back with a proper new installment nonetheless.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake launches for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on January 21, and will also be playable on Xbox Series X and PS5 via backward compatibility.
