Path of Exile - Echoes of the Atlas

Grinding Gear Games has unveiled its latest expansion for free to play action RPG Path of Exile. Echoes of the Atlas will introduce big changes to the Atlas of Worlds endgame along with new maps, new mechanics and a new super-boss. Check out the reveal trailer below.

The “story” of this expansion centers on The Maven, a new entity that witnesses the player’s battles in the Atlas. Through a series of twists, the player can enlist The Maven to fight numerous bosses at once for big rewards, starting with two bosses and eventually taking on ten. Rewards include a Maven Orb for crafting and passive points for different regions of the Atlas.

Each region has a number of different passive trees to invest in. You could have maps in one region of the Atlas spawn more Beyond monsters or increase the duration of Legion Totems. Many of the Ascendancy classes, including Deadeye and Hierophant, will also be receiving huge changes to shake up the meta. Path of Exile: Echoes of the Atlas goes live on January 15th for PC and January 20th for consoles.
