At this point, Capcom’s Resident Evil series has become an annual franchise, and this year’s entry is looking to be something else in Village. We recently got a big blowout of information about the game that left many talking (mostly about the tall vampire lady, but you know). Series regular Chris Redfield is also going to have a key role in the game, and you can even dress like him for a pretty hefty price.

The game, like most major releases, will have a Collector’s Edition with lots of swag for fans. If you want to go deeper, though, you can also buy the coat that Chris wore in the reveal trailer that you can see in the header picture above. There is a catch, it is only available via Capcom’s Japanese store though it can be shipped internationally. Oh, and it’s also 159,731 JPY, which roughly translates to $1,500 USD. There are also options to buy it with the game, specifically the Collector’s Edition. If you want the coat as well that, it’ll set you back about $2,000.

What makes this coat special? Well, as far as I can tell, not a whole lot. It does look to be a nice coat, but this largely seems to be a novelty and collector’s item. Capcom has done this kind of thing in the past, such as with the leather jackets characters have like Leon in Resident Evil 6 and Nero in Devil May Cry 5. This is a tad…plainer than those, but hey, if you want it, it’s there.

Resident Evil Village will release for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC on May 7th. A visual demo entitled Maiden is available now on PS5 with a second demo promising a “meatier” gameplay experience coming in the Spring for all platforms.
