Embracer Group has become a major force to be reckoned with in a surprisingly short period of time, and with a flurry of acquisitions over the last few years, they’ve amassed a large number of major developers and publishers in the industry. As you’d expect, that’s going to lead to significantly boosted output for the company where games are concerned.

In the company’s recently quarterly financial briefing, Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors said that accounting for all the developers currently under the company’s umbrella, over 70 total premium development projects will be completed over the coming fiscal year (by April 2022)- and this is not counting any games currently in the works at the recently acquired Gearbox and Aspyr. Meanwhile, Wingefors also said that the second half of 2021 will see Embracer Group releasing more games than usual.

“Looking ahead, we now expect the next financial year ending March 2022 to become the strongest in our history driven by numerous significant releases towards the second half of the year,” Wingefors stated. ” In total, we expect to complete more than 70 premium game development projects with a total completion value in the range SEK 2,500-3,000 million, according to management estimates at the time of this report. This excludes any additions from the announced transactions on February 3 with Gearbox, Aspyr and EasyBrain. Consequently, we now expect Q4, the current quarter ending March, to have lower activity in terms of new releases. The value of completed (released) games in Q4 is estimated to be in the range of SEK 120 – 140 million and between SEK 840 – 860 million for the fiscal year.”

Of Embracer’s sizeable lineup of games in development, Biomutant is the closest to launch. Other games scheduled for 2021 include Evil Dead: The Game, Chorus, Chivalry 2and King’s Bounty 2.
