It Takes Two

It Takes Two is promising to take Hazelight Studios’ co-op gameplay and storytelling to new heights, and ahead of its launch later next month, EA have released a new gameplay trailer for it, with commentary from director and Hazelight founder Josef Fares, to give a brief explanation of what players can expect.

Fares has been emphasizing maximum variety in gameplay with It Takes Two, and this trailer doubles down on that. From platforming sections to action sequences to tons of minigames, there seems to be plenty going on. Fares promises that mechanics and ideas will rarely be reused, and the new mechanics the game throws at you will always tie into whatever is going on in the game’s story. Plenty of examples of that are also shown in the trailer, so take a look below.

It Takes Two recently went gold, and is on schedule to launch on March 26 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC (but a Nintendo Switch version seems unlikely). According to Fares, the game will be about 14-15 hours long, which would make it roughly twice as long as Hazelight’s previous game, A Way Out.

We recently had the chance to interview Fares and learn many new details about It Takes Two. You can read the full interview through here.
