Resident Evil Village is shaping up to quite an interesting game, and with its gothic aesthetic and its focus on everything from werewolves to witches to vampires, there’s quite a few questions about how all of this stuff is going to slot into the series’ lore. Some major new characters such as Heisenberg and Lady Dimitrescu have received quite a bit of the limelight, and even though there’s no shortage of mystery surrounding those, it seems Capcom is preparing to tease other newcomers as well.
New promotional art has been released for Resident Evil Village in Japan (via Biohazardcast on Twitter), and there’s quite a bit to unpack here. Chris Redfield (who’s holding Ethan and Mia’s infant daughter) and Ethan Winters are front and centre once again, of course, but curiously enough, there’s a mysterious masked figure also taking up quite a bit of real estate. Who this character is is anyone’s guest (could this be the Mother Miranda that Lady Dimitrescu was speaking with in one of the game’s trailers?), but the look is certainly an interesting. Check it out below.
Resident Evil Village is due out on May 7 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. If you’re planning the game on PC, check out its system requirements through here. New details on the game will also be released in another Resident Evil showcase this month.
