Diablo Immortal

Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo Immortal has been making significant progress since its controversial reveal at BlizzCon 2018. It had an alpha test in December 2020 and recently went into closed alpha for Australian players on Android. New content like the Crusader and raids that support 48 players have been added.

But there’s much more. There are two new zones – Mount Zavain, which serves as home for the Monks, and the Frozen Tundra, where the barbarian tribes battle against Baal’s armies. A new dungeon, the Cavern of Echoes, is also available as players venture within to find the Iceburn Tear. PvP has also been added with players squaring up in 8v8 skirmishes in the Battleground.

There’s also The Cycle of Strife, a faction-based PvP mode that sees the Immortals fighting for Sanctuary while the Shadows keep them in check. Everyone starts out as an Adventurer but can eventually decide to join either faction. If the Shadows succeed in overthrowing the Immortals, they then assume their position and a new Cycle begins (a la ranked seasons).

The Helliquary is another interesting addition, available after completing the main quest in Bilefen. Players can essentially find powerful demons and trap them with the device to acquire new found powers. The Helliquary can be leveled up with Scoria and players will face more powerful enemies and bosses overtime. For more details on the new content and closed alpha, head here.
