After Returnal launches this Friday for PS5, Insomniac’s Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will be the next big console exclusive to watch. A new State of Play focusing on the platformer is already planned for tomorrow but based on the recent trailer, it’s looking great with blazing fast load times when shifting between dimensions. But it could be even faster in the final game.

Replying to a ResetEra user who noted the one second loading time, Insomniac Games community director James Stevenson replied that, “It’ll probably be slightly faster even by the time you play it in June.” Stevenson also clarified the ESRB rating in the beginning that specified in-game purchases, noting that this was “solely for the upgrade to the deluxe edition.” So no, there won’t be any microtransactions.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is out on June 11th for PS5. It sees the iconic duo battling Dr. Nefarious who’s using a dimensional collapse for his own, well, nefarious ends. A new Lombax character, Rivet, will also be playable. Stay tuned for even more details at tomorrow’s State of Play.
