Beloved Nintendo DS RPG The World Ends with You is getting a sequel at long last soon, and as always sequels tend to do, NEO: The World Ends with You is hoping to be a bigger and better experience in every way possible. That, of course, includes the game’s length and how much content it’s going to have as well. According to its developers, you can expect to clock in several dozen hours.

Speaking with 4Gamer (via Nintendo Everything), game director Hiroyuki Ito assured that NEO: The World Ends with You is going to have a lot more to do than the first game, with the main story itself apparently being about 50 hours long. “There’s a lot more to do in this game, especially compared to the original game,” Ito said. “I think reaching the ending alone will take around 50 hours.”

Meanwhile, series director Tatsuya Kando said that with several collectibles, optional challenging fights, and plenty of other side content, there’s quite a lot of content in the game, and players who choose to take the completionist route can expect to spend as much as a hundred hours in the RPG.

“If you’re the type of player to do everything a game has to offer, expect your hour count to reach the triple digits,” Kando said. “There’s a lot to collect in the game, everything from character profiles to pins, with some challenging fights thrown in as well. Clearing certain milestones in the game allow players to receive graffitied stickers, which you can decorate the backstreets of Udagawa with.”

The World Ends with You was roughly 20-30 hours long, so fans will certainly be excited about the prospect of the sequel being twice as big. Meanwhile, the first game definitely has enough content to keep completionists busy for a hundred hours, so it’s not unexpected that its sequel is doing the same thing.

NEO: The World Ends with You is out on July 27 for Nintendo Switch and PS4, and later in the year for PC. A demo is currently available on Switch and PS4.
