Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn recently received a new patch for improving the game on next-gen hardware. Reports of crashes on PS5 running the game in back-compatibility have been frequent as of late, which have seemingly been fixed with the game’s latest update.

Patch 1.54 is a small update that doesn’t do much except improving the game’s stability on the platform. It’s great that fans can now enjoy the game without having much trouble with the game, while they patiently wait for the sequel next year. You can find the full patch notes below.

Horizon Forbidden West is the next chapter in Aloy’s adventures, and looks absolutely breathtaking, both from a visual and a gameplay standpoint. However, the developer recently attracted a lot of negative press when the game’s upgrade options were locked behind an $80 Ultimate edition, a decision which Sony retracted following enormous fan-backlash for the same.

Patch notes:

  • Fixed an issue where some cinematics did not have any audio on external audio devices when running on a PS5 console in backwards compatibility mode
  • Fixed the FOV slider in Photo Mode
  • Fixed several crashes when running on a PS5 console in backwards compatibility mode
