It’s become abundantly clear in the last few months that Sony has every intention to make a much bigger mark in the mobile space, and they’ve been taking the steps to lay down the foundations for that. One of these has seen them recruit Nicola Sebastiani in a leading position.

Sebastiani, in case you aren’t aware, was at Apple for nearly eight years, where he headed up their games business management on the App Store, before then becoming the head of content for their subscription gaming service, Apple Arcade. According to his LinkedIn profile, he joined PlayStation Studios as the head of their mobile division in July of this year.

Earlier this year, PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan said that the company was looking at bringing some of the biggest PlayStation franchises to mobile, and later added that it wanted to expand its audience to millions of players in the mobile space. In June, Ryan said Sony would be sharing news about its mobile plans “sooner than you might think.” Read more on that through here.
