Dragon Age 4

BioWare’s Dragon Age 4 – or whatever the next Dragon Age ends up being called – seemed like a shoe-in to appear at The Game Awards 2021 (especially since it appeared in 2018 and 2020). However, that no longer seems to be the case. In a post celebrating Dragon Age Day 2021, the development team said it’s still “hard at work on building the next single-player focused experience for Dragon Age.”

“We’re excited for next year when we can talk more about what we’re working on.” This seeming indicates that the next big reveal won’t be happening at The Game Awards after all. The franchise’s senior creative director Matt Goldman recently left and given that the pandemic is still causing delays so it’s not that surprising overall. It does make you wonder if it’s still on track for release in 2023, as rumors in July indicated.

Platforms for Dragon Age 4 haven’t been officially announced though it’s apparently going to be a current-gen release only. Thus far, we know that Solas, the Dread Wolf, appears and that Tevinter will be the main setting. Stay tuned for more official details next year. As for The Game Awards, it kicks off on December 9th at 4:30 PT with a pre-show; the main show begins at 5 PM PT.
