It’s been a week since Destiny 2’s latest expansion The Witch Queen launched and players have reported issues with Wellspring not giving enough Deepsight weapons. Bungie said it would look into it and now, game director Joe Blackburn this will be addressed in a patch next week.

On Twitter, he said that, “We’re still monitoring the time commitment for unlocking and upgrading crafted weapons, but the drop rates and unlock requirements for the Wellspring Throne World weapons are currently going to gate off too many players from being able to earn their Exotic Glaives.” Next week’s patch should remedy this, increasing the drop chances for Wellspring weapons while also adding bad luck protection “for both getting a standard drop and getting a Deepsight resonate version of a weapon.”

Drop rates for Ascendant Alloy, a new material used for crafting enhanced perks on weapons (with some not being worth the effort but that’s a different story), also aren’t satisfactory. As a result, players can look forward to fixes later today that will make them “more predictable” in high level activities. “With our patch targeting this Thursday you will have greater chances to receive an Ascendant Alloy not just by the difficulty tier of the activity but also based on your Plat/Gold/Silver completion level.

“This will mean higher chances at earning Ascendant Alloys for Gold/Platinum completions, but we will continue to monitor and adjust drop rates as the season progresses.”

Bungie is also prepping for the release of The Witch Queen’s raid on March 5th. Like previous raids, the first 24 hours will have Contest Mode enabled which restricts all players to a set Power level, regardless of their actual Power. The team that completes the raid first will net some real-world rewards (which should include a snazzy championship belt). Stay tuned for more details when the raid drops in the coming days.
