Destiny 2 The Witch Queen

In its latest “This Week at Bungie” blog post, Bungie has confirmed the release date for Destiny 2: The Witch Queen’s raid. It goes live on March 5th at 10 AM PST, which gives players about 12 days to get ready. Details on Contest Mode and its rewards will be revealed in the coming days.

With regards to new Power caps, the floor will be 1350 Power when the expansion launches and applies to all new characters. This will be good for those signing in after a break and wanting to dive immediately into the new campaign. The Soft cap will be 1500 Power – all drops after this will stop being upgrades though Powerful gear sources can still help.

The Power cap will be 1550 Power and is the point where Powerful drops will no longer provide upgrades. You then need to obtain gear from Pinnacle sources (i.e. end-game activities) to reach the 1560 Hard cap. Rare weapons and armor will continue to drop from enemies and chests while playing the game but those above the Soft cap will instead have an increased chance at Legendaries or Legendary Shards when completing activities.

Banshee-44 is also being given a new reputation system which can be increased by dismantling Legendary and Exotic weapons and armor along with completing daily Gunsmith bounties. Gunsmith Materials and Weapon Telemetries are thus being removed along with Mod Components. That means mods will require 10,000 Glimmer apiece to purchase and Bungie is increasing the number of available options from two to four for both Banshee-44 and Ada-1.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen releases on February 22nd for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC and Google Stadia.
