Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (5)

As promisedCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 took the stage at Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live with an extended gameplay debut. Activision and Infinity Ward showcased a mission from the game showcasing some typically explosive action, tactical and intense gunfights, some new and familiar characters, and more. Check it out below.

The mission in question sees the heroes of Task Force 141 infiltrating an enemy ship in order to shop a missile launch. It starts out slow and stealthy with some tight corridors and claustrophobic encounters, before things quickly take a dramatic turn and heat up significantly, ending in explosive fashion, followed by a brief montage of other bits and pieces from the game. In other words, it’s Call of Duty.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 launches on October 28 for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and PC. All versions retail for $70, including on PC, with the franchise finally returning to Steam after years as well. Post-launch, Infinity Ward and Activision have promised a “massive calendar” of free content like new maps and modes (like Gunfight), seasonal events, and more.
