Diablo Immortal has hit many bumps in the road since pretty much the day it was announced, and though its core design and mechanics have been praised since its launch earlier this week, the game has been on the receiving end of widespread and extreme backlash due to its aggressive monetization practices. In spite of all of that, however, it seems to be doing very well for itself.

Blizzard Entertainment has announced via a recent tweet that the free-to-play action RPG has enjoyed the biggest launch ever for a Diablo game to date, just a week on from its launch. That involves the game having been installed over 10 million times across all platforms since its launch. “Thanks for slaying with us,” the developer writes.

Diablo Immortal is currently available on PC, iOS, and Android. Blizzard has said that it intends to keep working on the game’s known issues, as well as concerns related to its microtransactions, in addition to plans of sustained post-launch content releases. It remains to be seen how successfully the developer will do all of that, but the game’s certainly got off to a strong start on this particular front.
