Skull and Bones Rated in Brazil, Seemingly Dropping Last-Gen Versions

Skull and Bones' classification rating in Brazil indicates that it's coming to PC, Stadia, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, but not to PS4 and Xbox One.

Skull and Bones

Is Skull and Bones a mirage in the desert, or is it a real game that’ll actually come out at some point? For years, it’s seemed like the former, but Ubisoft insists that it’s real and that it’s coming (supposedly before April 2023), and lately, that’s been looking likelier and likelier. A little over a month ago, Skull and Bones was rated in South Korea, and now it’s been rated again elsewhere.

As reported by Twisted Voxel, the upcoming pirate game has received a classification rating in Brazil. That in and of itself would be significant, what with classification ratings only coming when games are relatively close to being done and to releasing, but this classification rating also indicates some new details.

The rating mentions PC, Stadia, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S as the game’s release platforms. Until now, Skull and Bones has only officially announced for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, though this rating not only suggests that it’s also coming to Stadia, but also that it may have dropped last-gen console versions for their current-gen counterparts- or at least gone cross-gen, if nothing else.

Official updates on Skull and Bones have generally been rather scant, but the last few months have seen some activity on that front. An insider program of the game kicked off earlier this year, following which Ubisoft shared a brief new gameplay clip of the pirate adventure title. Leaks have also been out there in abundance, from alpha gameplay footage to details about the game’s supposed lack of PvP and more.
