A little over a year ago, Square Enix announced Dragon Quest Treasuresa treasure-hunting action RPG spinoff featuring Dragon Quest 11 characters, siblings Erik and Mia, as its two playable protagonists. After offering a brief glimpse at the title with a teaser trailer last month, the publisher said more would be revealed in June- and those promised details have now arrived.

Dragon Quest Treasures took the spotlight in the recent Nintendo Direct Mini, showcasing new gameplay footage and revealing details. Players will capture and befriend monsters to help them traverse an island, which they will explore in hunt for loot and treasure, while the monsters will also aid in battles against other treasure hunters. The more treasure you collect, the more your vault will fill up, allowing you to further expand your home base and, in turn, expand your team of monsters. Check out the trailer below.

Interestingly, Dragon Quest Treasures has also been announced as an exclusive for the Nintendo Switch, with no word yet on whether it’ll also arrive for other platforms down the line. The game is out on December 9.
