How fan-made projects and mods will be received from companies can vary wildly, based on the company in question. While the likes of Nintendo and Konami are all too happy to send out DMCA takedowns and shut down fan projects, there are others who essentially thrive on that aspect of the community. Bethesda – more specifically, Bethesda Game Studios – is very much in that latter group, and we have another example of that here.

Fallout: London is a fan-made mod that has been gaining a lot of attention and traction of late, and recently, a member of its development team got tapped up by Bethesda. The team behind the mod recently took to Twitter to confirm that its lead technical adviser Ryan Johnson has been recruited by Bethesda as an associate level designer.

This is not the first time that Bethesda has brought on someone working on a mod or a fan project and made them an official part of their team, and as always, it’s great to see it happen. What Johnson will be working on remains to be seen, though I’m sure that as a fan, he will have an eye on the inevitable Fallout 5, even though it’s way, way into the future right now.
