It was announced earlier this year that Gamescom would be returning for 2022 in August, with a hybrid physical and digital event taking place from August 24 to August 28. With less than a month to go until the event kicks off, more details about it are beginning to pour through as well.

For instance, as expected, it’s been announced that Gamescom’s yearly opening show, Gamescom Opening Night Live, will be returning as well. Taking recently to Twitter Geoff Keighley, who will be returning as host and producer, made the announced that the show is set for Tuesday, August 23, the night before Gamescom kicks off. You an expect “a night of game announcements, world premieres, and more” for what’s going to be a physical event with an audience present again.

Until now, the likes of Microsoft, Bandai Namco, and Ubisoft have confirmed that they’re going to have a presence at Gamescom this year in some capacity, though on the other hands, Nintendo and Sony have confirmed that they will not be attending. We will be covering the event and all of its biggest stories, of course, so stay tuned.
