Destiny 2 Lightfall

Bungie has revealed the first trailer for Destiny 2’s next expansion, Lightfall. It releases on February 28th, 2023 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC, and Google Stadia. Set on Neptune, specifically the city of Neomuna, it sees the Guardians battling The Witness and Calus, his disciple. Check it out below.

Calus isn’t alone – he has a new army called the Shadow Legion which has new armor and powers (including suppression). There’s also a new enemy type called a Tormentor. These are hulking foes wielding scythes, who can pull the player close, and deal massive damage.

As for Neomuna, it’s home to an alternate version of humanity blooming since the Collapse. It’s guarded by the Cloudstriders who are akin to Guardians, and have chosen to protect their people on Neptune. The new subclass this time around is Strand. It’s a Darkness power which the player is the first to discover and encompasses grappling hooks along with other movement abilities.

Warlocks can unleash Strand missiles, Titans slash with Strand claws, and the Hunter has a rope dart which attacks as it moves around. In addition to this, Legendary Mode – which provides increased rewards for a higher challenge – also returns for the Lightfall campaign. Stay tuned for more details on the expansion shortly.
