Wo Long Fallen Dynasty

Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo have debuted the first gameplay for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, the upcoming hack and slash title based on the Three Kingdoms era. Though it’s reminiscent of Nioh, the combat is faster-paced with more vertical movement and parrying. Check it out below.

Producer by Fumihiko Yasuda (Nioh 1 and 2) and Masaaki Yamagiwa (Bloodborne, Deracine), Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty takes place during the Yellow Turban Rebellion with the Han Dynasty coming to an end. It’s described as a “time of war and devastation” in which “people were constantly fighting.” As a military volunteer, the player has an important role in the story and can fully customize their avatar.

Despite the quicker combat, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty promises to be a challenging experience like Nioh while retaining the same level-based exploration. It’s out in early 2023 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. A gameplay trial will be available in the “near future” as per a tweet from July, so stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
