Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Gameplay Trial Coming in “the Near Future”

Like Nioh and Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin, Team Ninja's upcoming action RPG will allow players to try its gameplay before launch.

Wo Long Fallen Dynasty

Team Ninja is still working on DLC for Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin – the first, Trials of the Dragon King, launched recently. However, its next big title is Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, a hack and slash action RPG set during the Han Dynasty’s fall in the Three Kingdoms era. It promises to be a challenging experience with more freedom (yay for jumping) and faster combat than Nioh.

Much like Nioh and Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin, the developer will release a gameplay trial in “the near future,” according to a recent tweet. It touted the game’s other features, including the presence of Sorcery (which seemed a given). If this is anything like Team Ninja’s previous trials, expect it to be available for a limited time.

It could launch early on Xbox first instead of PlayStation, especially since it’s coming to Game Pass on day one (not to mention that it was announced at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase). An announcement could be made in the coming months, either at Gamescom in August or the Tokyo Game Show in September. Stay tuned in the meantime.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is in development for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. It’s out in early 2023.
