September 10 is going to be a big day for Assassin’s Creed, with Ubisoft planning to reveal details on the future of the franchise at its Ubisoft Forward showcase on the day. That, of course, will entail new announcements, one of which the company has already confirmed is going to be Assassin’s Creed Miragethe next mainline game in the series.

Mirage has been in the leaks quite persistently of late, but as tends to be the case with Ubisoft titles more often than not, so too has been what comes next for Assassin’s Creed after that. Assassin’s Creed Infinity will be a live service platform that will include multiple games with different settings, with more being added over time.

Recently, prominent insider Tom Henderson claimed that two of those games will also allegedly be announced at the Ubisoft Forward showcase. Since then, Bloomber’s Jason Schreier has also published a report that corroborates the leak, saying that Project Red – which is set in feudal Japan – and Project Hexe – which takes place set during the latter stages of the Holy Roman Empire – will both also be unveiled.

Interestingly, Schreier also mentions in his report that the two games aren’t expected to launch until at least 2024. Meanwhile, Henderson has said in a follow-up tweet since then that Project Red is planned to launch sometime in 2024, while Project Hexe will be out in 2026 (though it was initially planned for 2025). Whether that means Assassin’s Creed Infinity will launch with a single game, as opposed to what previous reports have claimed, remains to be seen.

Either way, we’ll have more concrete details on the matter soon enough, so stay tuned for more updates.
