Monolith Soft has to be one of Nintendo’s busiest studios, not only because of the incredible critical and commercial success its Xenoblade Chronicles games have enjoyed, but also because the developer has been instrumental in providing support for a number of major first party Nintendo releases over the years.

From The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to Animal Crossing: New Horizons to Pikmin 3, Monolith Soft has lent its hand to internal Nintendo studios on major productions more than a few times, and it seems the studio was once again involved in aiding the development of a Nintendo release.

As per the “games” page on Monolith Soft’s official website, the studio provided development support work for the recently-released Splatoon 3 as well. Given that the developer also provided support for the development of Splatoon and Splatoon 2, this doesn’t come as too much of a surprise.

Monolith Soft is also helping out with the development of the upcoming sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Meanwhile, Splatoon 3 has got off to a stellar start where sales are concerned, not only topping the weeky UK retail charts on debut, but also selling over 3.45 million units in Japan in its first three days.

Splatoon 3 is available on the Nintendo Switch. Our review of the game will go live soon, so stay tuned for that.
