Santa Monica Studio’s God of War Ragnarok was recently rated by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board ahead of its launch next month. It indicates that the release is still on track, and also provides additional details on its explicit content.
Rated “M” for Mature due to Blood and Gore, Intense Violence and Strong Language, the description notes Kratos and Atreus fighting against human raiders and creatures like centaurs, trolls, and dragons. As with the first game, there are a lot of blood-splatter effects and impalement via finishing moves. One involves repeatedly striking an enemy’s neck with the axe and decapitating them.
All this is par for the course, as are some of the more explicit curse words in the English language. God of War Ragnarok is out on November 9th for PS4 and PS5. It seems to be 90.4 GB on PS4 as per PlayStation Game Size on Twitter, which also reported that the game had potentially gone gold. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
