Halo Infinite might not be wrapping up its ongoing second season for several more months yet, but it looks like its upcoming mid-season Winter Update is going to be a significant one. A new XP system and the beta launch of Forge mode are, of course, headlining new additions, while the update will also be bringing two new Arena maps and a new multiplayer mode to the shooter. In a new update, 343 Industries has now shared another look at the latter two additions.
The two new maps coming to Halo Infinite – both built using Forge tools – are Argyle and Detachment. Argyle, set within the “narrow corridors of a UNSC vessel”, is described as a “tight, indoor, symmetrical map”, while Detachment, which will take players to a once-abandoned UNSC research facility, will be comprised of both indoor and outdoor environments.
Covert One Flag, meanwhile, is a new mode that 343 Industries describes as “a unique variant of One Flag CTF”. The round-based mode will see attacking and defending squads routinely swapping sides in a constant battle for control of a single flag. Attackers will be equipped with Active Camo to enable stealth gameplay, while defenders will be able to use the Threat Sensor to counter that.

Halo Infinite is available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. The Winter Update is set to launch on November 8. The shooter will also add a Forge-developed remake of classic Halo 3 map The Pit in November.
