It’s N7 Day, a day of celebration for all things Mass Effect. In a new blog post, BioWare revealed that pre-production was proceeding “very well” for the next Mass Effect. It focused on four of the leads involved while noting the team to be “hard at work crafting new characters and locations that you’ll love, as well as revisiting many that you’ll remember.”

The project director is Mike Gamble, who served as producer on Mass Effect: Andromeda, and lead producer on Anthem. Danielle Enns is the senior development director who previously worked at Serious Labs Inc to create virtual reality training solutions. Mary de Marle is a senior narrative director and is best known for writing Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (which won Best Narrative at The Game Awards 2021).

Finally, there’s franchise creative director Parrish Ley, cinematic animator on Mass Effect and lead cinematic animator on Mass Effect 2 and 3. So when can fans expect new details on the next Mass Effect? As usual, when the team is ready.

“One day, when we’re ready, we’ll have more to share on the next Mass Effect, so thank you for being a part of this journey with us. It’s exceptionally exciting for the team, and we’d love to continue sharing glimpses of what we’re working on with you in the future. And, on today of all days, we also want to honor the legacy that got us here.”

BioWare also confirmed that “millions” have experienced Mass Effect Legendary Edition. “It means the world to us to see you enjoy our games and become part of this story.” Aside from last year’s N7 Day tease, all we know is that the next Mass Effect is being developed on Unreal Engine 5. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
