In the latest chapter of the saga of Microsoft’s attempted acquisition of Activision Blizzard, a report by Bloomberg indicates that one of the deals Microsoft offered competitor Sony is to allow Call of Duty games to be available as part of the latter’s PlayStation Plus lineup of games after the acquisition.

According to the report, Microsoft seems to have made this new offer in addition to the original offer where it promised 10 years of Call of Duty releases on PlayStation after the acquisition. The report states that Sony is yet to have accepted the deal.

It is worth noting that a lot of the investigations surrounding the acquisition by regulatory bodies like the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority, the European Commission, and most recently, the US Federal Trade Commission, revolve around how Microsoft’s ownership of the Call of Duty franchise would lead to the game being a part of the PC and Xbox Game Pass subscription services.

Microsoft has previously also made various statements, including one about Call of Duty players not driving platform adoption.
